About This Project
This interior conversion highlights our ability to uncover hidden square footage inside an existing home's footprint. Taking an unconditioned attic space that was previously used only for rough storage and remediating it from the framing outward allowed us to bring the room entirely into the home's structural envelope. Environmental Sealing & Structural Remediation: The project began with a thorough clearing, sanitization, and restoration of the original structural framing. We sealed off the raw roof rafters, laying down high-performance insulation boundaries to regulate temperatures perfectly in this peak upper zone. Once the mechanical upgrades were secured behind the layout, we installed crisp, shiplap across the uniquely angled ceiling fields, turning a dark and neglected space into a bright canvas that captures the natural light. Finished Elements & Spatial Utility: The newly established room leverages its elevated architecture to create a cozy, premium retreat. We installed wood-grained flooring across the footprint, providing a clean surface that beautifully anchors the sloping walls. Accented by minimalist white trim profiles, the completed space steps entirely away from its utilitarian past. The final build-out delivers a clean, fresh, and welcoming bonus lounge that adds immense livable value to the residence.
