About This Project

This structural modification demonstrates our ability to physically alter a home's architectural envelope to unlock dramatic landscape views and interior volume. By carefully tying a new structure into the house's original framing, we created a seamless spatial expansion that completely redefines the living experience. Structural Extension & View Optimization: The addition projects outward from the original exterior wall line, using advanced framing techniques to ensure flawless load distribution and subfloor continuity. We fitted the newly created perimeter with a pair of premium windows alongside a classic glass French door, creating a tailored transition zone that naturally connects the indoor lounge with the peacefulness of the surrounding woods. To ground this new alignment of glass, we installed wide-plank, light-toned timber flooring that matches existing, aged flooring sweeping through the transition zone with clean, uninterrupted layout lines. Architectural Trim Work & Overhead Geometry: Overhead, the addition opens up into a dramatic vaulted ceiling configuration. We finished the ceiling fields in a beautifully micro-beveled, natural wood tongue-and-groove paneling, providing an organic, warm contrast to the crisp white drywall of the main structure. Meticulously wrapped in smooth white casing and structured header trim, the geometric trim profiles match the original interior detail flawlessly, presenting an addition that feels entirely integrated, sophisticated, and engineered to endure.
